MCP Playbook - Sendoso x Common Room
Buyers have learned to ignore inboxes, ads, and templated outreach. A gift that lands at their door, timed to something real happening at the account, still gets through. That's why teams running account-based and demand generation motions keep funding gifting even as other channel budgets shrink.

The harder problem has been speed and handoffs. An ABM marketer often learns an account is surging weeks late, after pulling a report from three different tools. A demand gen marketer can build a sharp segment in an intent platform, then has to export it and hand it to someone else to run the send. Common Room and Sendoso running in the same AI session close that gap. Common Room finds the account or contact worth acting on right now, a job change at a target account, a spike in product usage, a company that looks like your best customers, and Sendoso picks the gift, drafts the note, and runs the send with a review step before anything ships.
For ABM, that means the target account list stops being static: a signal at a named account turns into a proposed gift and note the same day, waiting on approval. For demand gen, segment building and gift selection happen in the same ask, and the campaign's engagement numbers are one question away when finance asks for proof.
Why This Matters for ABM & Demand Gen Marketers
Same-day account signals. When Common Room flags a target account moving, a champion's job change, a spike in product usage, a pricing-page visit, the AI can act that day instead of surfacing it in next month's QBR deck. That's account penetration, not a report about it after the fact.
List building without an export. Common Room turns a signal, product usage above a threshold, no open opportunity, a company that looks like your best customers, straight into a list Sendoso can act on. No CSV, no handoff to someone else to execute.
Gifts grounded in more than a title. Common Room surfaces the business context, the signal, the account fit, the contact's role. Sendoso adds the personal layer on top: Gong call history for an existing relationship, or a cause and interest signal from PDL when there's no call history yet, so the gift reflects the person and not just their job title.
Proof ready before the QBR, not built for it. Send history and engagement rate by campaign or gift type are one question away. Budget conversations don't wait for a quarterly export.
One segment, shared with sales. A list built for an ABM or demand gen play in Common Room is visible to the sales team working those same accounts. An SDR or AE isn't rediscovering the same signal three days later from a different tool.

Common Room MCP Tools
Scenario 1: Signal-Triggered Account Play
Setup: A target account on your ABM list has been quiet for months. Common Room flags a signal, a job change into the account or a spike in product usage, that suggests the account is finally in motion.
How the MCP helps:
- Common Room: commonroom_list_objects, filtered to your target account segment and sorted by recent signal activity, surfaces the account, its most engaged contact, and that contact's role and company context.
- Sendoso (if Gong is connected): gong_call_transcripts checks for a personal interest signal to make the gift specific rather than generic.
- Sendoso (if Salesforce is connected): salesforce_search_profile pulls the account's deal stage and last logged activity.
- Sendoso: marketplace_product_search finds a gift that fits the signal, the contact's role, and any personal interest surfaced, within your price cap.
- Sendoso: execute_send generates a preview with price and delivery method for your review.
Example prompt:
"Check Common Room for signal activity in the last [TIME WINDOW] across my [SEGMENT NAME] target list. For the most engaged contact at any account that's moved, confirm their role and find a gift under $[PRICE CAP] that fits [SIGNAL OR CONTEXT]. Before sending, show me the proposed gift and message so I can confirm before you execute."Expected output:
The account and contact Common Room flagged, the signal behind it, a gift recommendation with price, a drafted note that references the signal, and a send preview waiting on your confirmation.Scenario 2: Signal-Qualified List to Campaign Send
Setup: You're running a re-engagement campaign and need a list built on real intent, not a static segment pulled from last quarter.
How the MCP helps:
- Common Room: commonroom_list_objects filters accounts by signal criteria, for example product usage above a threshold with no open opportunity, or companies similar to your top customers, with firmographic enrichment included automatically for any net-new companies in the results.
- Common Room: commonroom_create_object saves the result as a segment so the list can be reused or shared.
- Sendoso: marketplace_product_search with a price cap finds a gift that fits the campaign budget across the list.
- Sendoso: execute_send previews the send for each contact individually before anything ships.
- Sendoso: query_analytics_table pulls the campaign's engagement rate once sends go out.
Example prompt:
"Find companies in Common Room with [SIGNAL CRITERIA, e.g. high product usage and no open opportunity] and save them as a segment called [SEGMENT NAME]. For each contact, find a gift under $[PRICE CAP] that fits [CAMPAIGN THEME]. Before sending, show me the proposed gift and message for each contact so I can confirm before you execute."Expected output:
A saved Common Room segment, a gift recommendation sized to the campaign budget, a send preview per contact awaiting confirmation, and an engagement rate ready to pull once the sends are live.Scenario 3: Net-New Prospect to First Send
Setup: A batch of net-new companies looks like your best customers, but none of them are tracked in Common Room or your CRM yet, so there's no history to build a gift recommendation from.
How the MCP helps:
- Common Room: commonroom_list_objects, run against Prospector-sourced criteria, finds net-new companies matching your ICP.
- Common Room: commonroom_create_object converts the top prospects into tracked contact and organization records using their Prospector IDs, which auto-populates name, title, company, and social profiles, and applies upsert so nothing duplicates later.
- Sendoso: pdl_search_profile pulls any cause or interest area PDL has on file, since there's no call history yet to draw a personal angle from any other way.
- Sendoso: marketplace_product_search finds a gift suited to a first touch, matching the company context Common Room surfaced and any interest area PDL returned.
- Sendoso: execute_send previews the send for each contact, using address confirmation by email since these are new contacts.
Example prompt:
"Find [NUMBER] companies similar to [TOP CUSTOMER NAMES OR SEGMENT] that aren't in Common Room yet, and add the top ones as contacts and organizations in a segment called [SEGMENT NAME]. For each, find a first-touch gift under $[PRICE CAP] and use address confirmation by email. Before sending, show me the proposed gift and message for each contact so I can confirm before you execute."Expected output:
A new Common Room segment with tracked contact and organization records, a first-touch gift recommendation per contact informed by any interest area PDL surfaces, and a send preview per contact awaiting your confirmation.Extra Plays - Getting Your Sales Team Involved
Extra Play 1: Silent Stakeholder Reveal
Setup: A target account's named contacts have gone quiet, but Common Room's website tracking shows the account visiting pricing or comparison pages again. Company-level tracking has the higher hit rate and works best for US-based traffic; with person-level tracking enabled, Common Room can often resolve the specific visitor too.
How the MCP helps:
- Common Room: commonroom_list_objects, filtered to the account and sorted by recent website activity, surfaces the traffic and, where person-level tracking resolved someone, that specific visitor; otherwise it surfaces the account-level signal and any named contacts already tied to the account.
- Sendoso (if Gong is connected): gong_call_transcripts checks for a personal interest to make the gift feel specific, not just well-timed.
- Sendoso: marketplace_product_search finds a low-key, curiosity-driven gift rather than a hard pitch, sized for a stakeholder you may not have fully identified.
- Sendoso: execute_send previews the send with smart delivery enabled, since you likely don't have an address for this contact yet.
Example prompt:
"Check Common Room for website activity at [ACCOUNT NAME] in the last [TIME WINDOW]. Tell me if a specific visitor was identified or it's account-level activity only, and which named contacts are tied to the account either way. Find a gift under $[PRICE CAP] that's intriguing rather than salesy. Before sending, show me the proposed gift and message so I can confirm before you execute."Expected output:
The traffic signal, a specific visitor if person-level tracking resolved one or the account-level activity and named contact otherwise, a gift recommendation calibrated to curiosity rather than a hard close, and a send preview waiting on confirmation.Extra Play 2: Objection-Echo Play
Setup: A mid-funnel deal stalled after a specific objection came up on a call, price, a competitor, timing, and it's been quiet since.
How the MCP helps:
- Sendoso (if Gong is connected): gong_call_transcripts pulls the specific objection language from the call where the deal stalled.
- Common Room: commonroom_list_objects checks whether that contact has revisited pricing or comparison pages since the call, confirming the objection is still live.
- Sendoso: marketplace_product_search finds a gift and note angle that speaks directly to the objection, not a generic check-in.
- Sendoso: execute_send previews the send for review.
Example prompt:
"Pull the Gong transcript for my last call with [CONTACT NAME] at [ACCOUNT NAME] and tell me what objection came up. Check Common Room for whether they've revisited our pricing or comparison pages since. If so, find a gift under $[PRICE CAP] and draft a note that addresses [OBJECTION] directly. Before sending, show me the proposed gift and message so I can confirm before you execute."Expected output:
The objection pulled from the call, confirmation of whether the prospect is still actively comparing, a gift and note built around that objection, and a send preview awaiting confirmation.Extra Play 3: New Stakeholder Onboarding, Mid-Deal
Setup: A deal is already open when a job change signal fires, a new VP joins the buying committee, or an existing contact moves into a more senior role at the account.
How the MCP helps:
- Common Room: commonroom_list_objects, filtered by job change signals at accounts with an open deal, surfaces the new stakeholder along with their role and background.
- Sendoso (if Salesforce is connected): salesforce_account_details confirms the deal is still open and what stage it's in.
- Sendoso: pdl_search_profile checks for a cause or interest area on file, a personalization angle for someone new to the deal with no call history yet.
- Sendoso: marketplace_product_search finds a welcome-appropriate gift for a first touch, matching the new stakeholder's role and any interest area surfaced.
- Sendoso: execute_send previews the send, scheduled ahead of the next call.
Example prompt:
"Check Common Room for job change signals in the last [TIME WINDOW] at accounts with an open opportunity. For [ACCOUNT NAME], confirm the new contact's role and find a welcome gift under $[PRICE CAP], scheduled to arrive before our next call on [DATE]. Before sending, show me the proposed gift and message so I can confirm before you execute."Expected output:
The new stakeholder and the signal that surfaced them, confirmation the deal is still open, a welcome-toned gift and note, and a send preview scheduled ahead of the call, awaiting confirmation.Extra Play 4: Quiet Champion, Still Active
Setup: A champion has stopped replying to email, but they're still heavily using the product or active in your community, so the deal isn't actually cold.
How the MCP helps:
- Common Room: commonroom_list_objects checks the contact's product usage and community activity, posts, threads, engagement, alongside their email reply history.
- Sendoso (if Salesforce is connected): salesforce_notes checks logged activity and any CSM or rep notes for context, both to verify the silence is on email specifically and to surface any relationship detail worth referencing.
- Sendoso (if Gong is connected): gong_call_transcripts pulls a personal detail from a past call to sharpen the gift beyond "you're still using the product."
- Sendoso: marketplace_product_search finds a gift tied to something the contact has specifically done, a feature they use constantly, a thread they posted in, rather than a generic check-in gift.
- Sendoso: execute_send previews the send for review.
Example prompt:
"Check Common Room for [CONTACT NAME]'s recent product usage and community activity, even though they've gone quiet on email. If they're still active, find a gift under $[PRICE CAP] tied to [SPECIFIC ACTIVITY OR FEATURE] and draft a note that references it directly. Before sending, show me the proposed gift and message so I can confirm before you execute."Expected output:
Confirmation of what the contact is still actively doing despite email silence, a gift and note tied to that specific activity, and a send preview awaiting confirmation.Extra Play 5: Competitive Counter-Send
Setup: A contact at a mid-funnel account visits one of your own head-to-head comparison pages (a "Sendoso vs. [competitor]" page) or arrives at your site through a paid campaign built around competitive search terms, signaling they're actively weighing alternatives right now. [G2 activity specifically only surfaces if it's already flowing into Salesforce; confirm with Cody whether that sync exists before relying on it. Common Room cannot see visits to a competitor's own site.]
How the MCP helps:
- Common Room: commonroom_list_objects checks whether the contact visited an owned comparison page or arrived via a UTM-tagged competitive campaign, tied to the account.
- Common Room: commonroom_list_objects also checks the account's technographic profile and public job listings for any mention of the competitor, as a secondary signal they're already in-market.
- Sendoso: marketplace_product_search finds a gift themed around your actual point of differentiation, not a generic send.
- Sendoso: execute_send previews the send, timed to land while the contact is actively comparing rather than after they've already decided.
Example prompt:
"Check Common Room for visits to our [COMPARISON PAGE NAME] page or arrivals via a competitive campaign at [ACCOUNT NAME] in the last [TIME WINDOW]. Also check their tech stack and job listings for any mention of [COMPETITOR NAME]. If there's activity, find a gift under $[PRICE CAP] themed around [YOUR DIFFERENTIATOR] and draft a note. Before sending, show me the proposed gift and message so I can confirm before you execute."Expected output:
Confirmation of comparison-page or competitive-campaign activity and when it happened, plus any technographic or job-listing signal pointing to the competitor, a gift and note built around your differentiation, and a send preview timed to the active evaluation window, awaiting confirmation.Extra Play 6: Technical Multi-Thread via Community Signal
Setup: A technical evaluator is active in your developer community, GitHub, Slack, or Stack Overflow, but isn't logged as a CRM contact, so sales doesn't know a second thread into the account exists.
How the MCP helps:
- Common Room: commonroom_list_objects, filtered by community activity (GitHub stars, Slack posts, Stack Overflow answers) tied to a target account, surfaces the evaluator and what they did. They're already an object in Common Room by virtue of that activity, just not yet organized for sales visibility.
- Common Room: commonroom_create_object adds them to a segment, for example "Technical Evaluators," so sales sees them and the rest of the flow can trigger off that segment.
- Sendoso: pdl_search_profile checks for a cause or interest area on file, a secondary personalization angle beyond the community activity itself, since there's no call history yet.
- Sendoso: marketplace_product_search finds a gift relevant to a technical audience, acknowledging the specific thing they did and any interest area surfaced, rather than their job title alone.
- Sendoso: execute_send previews the send for review.
Example prompt:
"Check Common Room for GitHub, Slack, or Stack Overflow activity tied to [ACCOUNT NAME] from people not yet in a sales-visible segment. For the most active one, add them to a segment called [SEGMENT NAME] and find a gift under $[PRICE CAP] that acknowledges [SPECIFIC ACTIVITY]. Before sending, show me the proposed gift and message so I can confirm before you execute."Expected output:
The technical evaluator and the specific community activity that surfaced them, a segment tagging them for sales visibility, a gift and note acknowledging their contribution, and a send preview awaiting confirmation.Getting Started
- Connect Sendoso MCP. An admin enables the connection on an eligible plan (Core, Advanced, or Enterprise), then each user connects their own Sendoso seat through a one-time secure sign-in.
- Connect Common Room MCP. In Claude, go to Settings, then Connectors, then Manage, install the Common Room connector, and complete the OAuth flow with your Common Room account. If OAuth won't complete, a Claude admin may need to install the connector at the org level first.
- Confirm both are live. Ask "what's the latest signal activity for [ACCOUNT NAME]" to confirm Common Room, and "what's my Sendoso send history from the last 30 days" to confirm Sendoso.
- Run the first play on a small list. Try Scenario 1 or Scenario 2 on a single account or a short list before scaling to a full target segment.
- Sendoso MCP is in beta, rolling out deliberately. Starting now means shaping how it works and getting a head start while most of the market hasn't connected an execution layer to their signal data yet.
