From Signal to Send: Sendoso's MCP Is Now Live on Databricks Marketplace
Sendoso's MCP (Model Context Protocol) is now listed on Databricks Marketplace. Joint customers can install it as a governed connection inside their own workspace and turn a signal that Genie One — Databricks' AI coworker for business teams — already surfaced into an approved gift or direct mail send, without leaving Databricks.
Marketing and sales teams have always had two problems standing between them and the moment they need to act: getting the right data in hand, and then doing something about it.
Databricks solved the first one already. Genie One lets a marketer or seller ask a question in plain language and get an answer straight from governed data. No analyst queue, no ticket, no three-day wait.
The second problem hasn't gone anywhere. Databricks has described marketing teams whose agents can reason across a full customer dataset in real time and still have no way to trigger a next step. The insight and the action live in two different systems, run by two different teams. For gifting and direct mail specifically, closing that gap has generally meant exporting a list or standing up a tool entirely outside Databricks.
That's what changes with this listing.
That matters because gifting isn't just another channel to bolt on. More than 80% of buyers report fatigue from marketing emails, sales emails, and cold calls.
Direct mail and gifting are two of the few channels that still get through.
What's New
Sendoso's MCP installs as a governed Unity Catalog connection, discoverable in Marketplace or the Agents > MCP Servers tab inside your workspace. Once it's set up, a Genie space tracking account, contact, or engagement signals can hand straight to a proposed gift or direct mail send. No CSV. No second login. No separate campaign tool.
Every send still runs through the same governance as anything else in Databricks. Unity AI Gateway scopes which tools an agent can call, gates high-risk sends behind an approval policy, and logs every call for a full audit trail.
The setup work and the daily use split cleanly by role. Ops and GTM engineering configure what's exposed and what needs approval, once, through Unity AI Gateway (built on the permissions Unity Catalog defines). From there, a marketer or seller never touches any of that configuration. They see the gift show up as an option inside the same Genie conversation they're in, scoped to exactly what their role can trigger.
In Practice
Here's how that could look across 3 common plays. Each of these starts on the Databricks side: Genie space, a health-score model, or a lead-scoring model flags the moment first. Sendoso picks up from there.
Next best action
Sendoso has helped Samsara revive cold accounts, driving a 250%+ increase in pipeline sourced from a single direct mail campaign. Databricks has documented a related pattern at the same company: a multi-agent research system, running on Databricks, that cuts prospect prep time from an hour to under five minutes and lifts meeting booking rates from 0.18% to 6.49%. Now picture that same research agent going one step further. It picks a gift, times it to land right before the meeting, and the rep says yes, and it ships.
It works the same way when a deal goes quiet. A Genie space tracking your CRM data flags the deal the moment it stalls. From there, Sendoso's MCP checks Gong calls and Salesforce notes to figure out why: maybe the budget got cut, a champion left, or a competitor swooped in. Then it suggests a gift that fits the reason, and the AE approves it, and it sends.
Retention and churn
Databricks already runs the model that scores account health. The moment it flags an account sliding into at-risk territory, Genie surfaces it, and Sendoso proposes a recovery gift grounded in recent call sentiment instead of a generic check-in email. The CSM on the account is pinged with context and can approve the gift send directly in Genie One. High-tier accounts route to the CSM ahead of the renewal conversation, when timing matters.
Lead scoring
Same idea with lead scoring. Databricks runs the model that flags the moment a lead crosses the fit-and-behavior threshold. Sendoso checks there's no existing send on file and selects a lightweight eGift from an approved catalog, all under a dollar threshold the marketer sets. Anything above that threshold routes to a human first. Repeated engagement works the same way: a Genie space tracking content or product usage flags three visits to a pricing page in a week, and that can trigger a gift matched to what they were reading, with the specific page cited in the outreach.
One more thing worth knowing: a contact's gift history follows them, not just the company they worked at when they got it. If something you sent landed well two jobs ago, that history is still there to work from when they show up somewhere new.
Getting Started
- Install Sendoso's MCP from Databricks Marketplace, or from the Agents > MCP Servers tab in your workspace, as a governed Unity Catalog connection.
- Make sure the data behind your use case is actually flowing into Databricks: engagement history, health scores, whatever the play depends on.
- Pick one use case first. Where's churn highest? Where does engagement drop after onboarding? Where do deals stall at the same stage? Then look at the agentic workflows you've already built. Where do they surface a signal nobody acts on?
- Ship it, then track it. Trigger sends through the MCP and measure results right inside Databricks reporting, next to every other channel you run.
Sendoso's MCP already works inside Claude, ChatGPT, and the rest of your AI stack. Now it works inside Databricks too.
